1. Overview of RapidLoader Web Accelerator

How does RapidLoader Web Accelerator work?
RapidLoader accelerates your Internet access through proprietary text and image compression, content caching and other network optimizations.
Will I benefit from using RapidLoader Web Accelerator?
YES! RapidLoader speeds up web page access on any Internet connection. The process works regardless of your current speed.
What types of content does RapidLoader Web Accelerator speed up?
RapidLoader Web Accelerator significantly speeds up web page access. To achieve this speed up, proprietary lossless compression is applied to text, html, xml, javascript and style sheets. Proprietary image compression is applied to gif images, jpeg images and Flash content.

RapidLoader also accelerates email traffic (POP3 and SMTP)using lossless compression.
RapidLoader does NOT speed up file downloads (over FTP or file sharing programs), streaming audio/video and HTTPS (secure web sites).

You will be provided with a location to download the RapidLoader Web Accelerator installer once you have purchased the service.

3. Using RapidLoader Web Accelerator

How do I start RapidLoader Web Accelerator?
RapidLoader Web Accelerator is launched automatically every time Windows starts. You do not have to launch it manually unless you have disabled the auto launch feature. You can launch RapidLoader from the START menu.

A RapidLoader Web Accelerator icon appears in the Windows system tray to show that it is operating in the background.

How do I change the image quality for a particular image?
Right-clicking on an image within Internet Explorer and selecting "Show Original Image" allows you to view the original image. Selecting "Show All Original Images" allows you to view all original images on the entire web page.

How do I change the image quality setting for all images?
Right-click on the RapidLoader Web Accelerator taskbar icon and select "Settings". Select the "Image Quality" tab. Adjust the slider bar to the desired image quality setting. Press OK to save the changes.

4. Product Details

How do I use Internet Explorer with RapidLoader Web Accelerator?
Internet Explorer is automatically configured to use RapidLoader Web Accelerator. Use Internet Explorer as you normally would.
How do I use other browsers with RapidLoader Web Accelerator?
Netscape Navigator is automatically configured to use RapidLoader Web Accelerator. Use Netscape as you normally would.

For other browsers such as Opera and Mozilla, RapidLoader Web Accelerator works with any web browser that allows you to specify an HTTP proxy. You must set the HTTP proxy host to be "127.0.0.1" and the port number to be the local listening port of the RapidLoader Client (5400 by default). Consult your browser's documentation for information on how this can be done.
Does RapidLoader Web Accelerator speed up email access?
Yes, RapidLoader automatically accelerates your email traffic (POP3 and SMTP) for all popular email clients such as Eudora, Outlook, Outlook Express and Netscape Mail. Other email clients should work transparently as well.

Does RapidLoader Web Accelerator speed up my secure (HTTPS) transactions such as web banking?
RapidLoader Web Accelerator does not accelerate secure transactions. Secure web sites will continue to work by bypassing the acceleration component. If you have a Secure application that you would like accelerated, inquire about the RapidLoader Secure product.
What operating systems can RapidLoader Web Accelerator be installed on?
RapidLoader Web Accelerator can be installed on any of the following operating systems:
- Windows 95b w/ Winsock2
- Windows 98
- Windows 98SE
- Windows Millennium Edition (Windows ME)
- Windows NT 4.0
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP
RapidLoader Web Accelerator requires at least Internet Explorer 4.0 and Netscape 4.0 or any later version of either browser.
Note that the RapidLoader Email Acceleration component requires Windows 98 and above, and that the RapidLoader Pop-up Blocker component requires Internet Explorer 5.0 and above.
Newer versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer are available free of charge through Microsoft.
For Windows 95 users: Currently, Microsoft does not permit Windows 95 users to install Internet Explorer 6 or greater, however, Internet Explorer 5.5 is available.
What system requirements are necessary to use RapidLoader Web Accelerator?
The recommended system requirements for RapidLoader Web Accelerator are a Pentium 200MHz with 64MB of RAM and at least 5MB of hard-disk space.

Regardless, RapidLoader Web Accelerator will work within your current system configuration to provide you with the best content acceleration.

5. Service Cancellation

How do I cancel my Rapidloader service?
To cancel your RapidLoader service please send a signed cancellation letter to the following address:

Include your full name, address and customer registration number. When your request is received, your account will be scheduled to close one day prior to your next billing date.
